March 2025 News

Happy Spring, dear readers! 🌷 I hope March has brought you some springtime joy so far. Our newest little sweetheart is thoroughly enjoying her floral crib sheet while she strengthens her vision with black and white contrast cards. She's been an absolute joy and the perfect addition to our family.

In this month's newsletter, I've got just a few quick updates on my postpartum recovery, along with my writing and publishing outlook for the rest of 2025.

Some Personal Updates

My girl is a month old at this point, and we are just beginning to settle into a routine. That being said, the first few weeks were HARD, y'all. I did have some medical complications that have negatively affected my mental health, which in turn led to feeding complications that forced me to re-consider my decision to breastfeed. I was able to do so with my first three children, but it does not appear that I'll be able to with this little girl.

That being said, the switch to formula feeding has come with an unexpected benefit. The postpartum depression that I usually suffer from has already lightened quite a bit, and I find myself feeling more normal than ever as each day passes. Though I'm still grieving the loss of my breastfeeding journey with this little one, I'm grateful to be living in an era where quality formula exists!

I am finding my drive to write coming back pretty forcefully already which is SUCH a huge joy after having lost it for years on end with my first three kids. I'm looking forward to getting back to a routine by mid-year that will allow me to start making progress on my WIPs in a consistent way. Until then, I'm allowing myself to come back to writing in bits and pieces, as time and energy allow. Rest assured I'm already mulling ideas over and preparing mentally to hit the ground running when I come back! I can't wait to share more details about my WIP in a future email. 💜
